The kitchen had a giant wall lacking detail.  We added our own wainscoting and shelving.  The space I was dreaming about to hold my milk glass collection.  The chalkboard frame was made by my inlaws.   The flag garland was made for a bake sale and I was able to fit it perfectly across the shelves.

We added a 2/3 high wall trim and then wallpaper. The mirror was given to me by my grandmother and the sink table was built by my husband.

Powder Room

Welcome to the powder room.
This was once was a boring brown bathroom. There was an undersized sink with a boring mirror glued to the wall.

Simple Bathroom Redo

Bathroom Redo Before

I loved the clean look of this bathroom. The medicine cabinet was
$17 clearance item from Target. We made the towel holder, added new trim and even made our own vent cover.

I have a file of pictures of homes that I absolutely love. This perfectly restored home is one of those homes. I spotted it off the main road in charming Cedarburg, WI after their annual Strawberry Days Festival.

How do you make a builder's home seem more like an old home?
-First eliminate a few of the beige walls.
-Add detail with shelving.
-Use texture with beadboard or additional trim
